Shiv is a young cinematographer from India,
born and raised in Punjab around film sets, he developed a deep fascination for the craft early on, which naturally led him into the world behind the camera.
He spent years traveling across India, working on a wide range of projects that enriched both his visual sensibility and on-ground experience. To further refine his skills, he trained at the renowned Mindscreen Film Institute in Chennai, where he developed a strong foundation in cinematic technique and language.
He then collaborated with various production houses like Dharma Productions and TVF on acclaimed projects like Kota Factory and Gehraiyaan, which strengthened his working style.
His travel experiences deeply influenced his work in the feature film Dhak Dhak, where he captured stunning visuals of four women biking through the mountains, perfectly echoing the spirit of the film.
Shiv’s strength lies in his ability to translate a story’s emotional core into compelling visuals. In Gullak Season 3, his lens brought warmth and introduced the house as a family member making audiences feel right at home.
In Aspirants Season 2, he crafted an aesthetic visual palette that emphasized character-driven storytelling, effectively capturing the complexities of bureaucratic life and the protagonist’s personal dilemmas.
In his most recent series, Bada Naam Karenge with Rajshri Productions, Shiv has beautifully framed the vibrancy of Indian traditions with a poetic sensitivity, enhancing the show’s emotional undertones.
Shiv approaches each project with quiet curiosity, letting the story lead and the visuals follow with intention.
